6% of the world’s population has an unruptured, asymptomatic intracranial aneurysm that they may or may not know about [1]. Because the brain is so complex and those of us without a medical degree cannot properly understand all its functions or the disease fundamentals, there is a large gap in knowledge between patients and clinicians concerning general knowledge of cerebral aneurysms, the symptoms and risk factors, consequences of the disease, and treatment options. Through our proposed web application, we intend to use it as a a way to reduce this knowledge gap in order to facilitate better understanding of the condition, communication between clinicians and patients, to reduce incidence of unnecessary treatments, and to help patients and clinicians determine appropriate courses of actions together.
